Book cover
They say every proud man must fall.
Mortals who fancy themselves gods will one day kneel.

I thought myself invincible.
Apollo on Earth.
Mocked my brother when he succumbed to such a fate.
Before I noticed the blue-haired nymph lurking in the background.

Cora Astor shouldn’t have come to this island.
She sneered in my direction, beguiling me with her disgust.

As a Wolfe, hunting is in my blood.
Getting what I want is my nature.
Even when I know I can never have it.

Though I cannot keep her,
I plan to relish the chase.

**Arrows and Apologies is a dark, contemporary romance inspired by the Apollo and Daphne myth. It is NOT fantasy or a retelling.**.

Alistair was so much better than I expected

When Cora’s brother goes missing everyone assumes he died but she can feel in her soul that he’s still out there. On her last night before going to search for him a stranger catches her stealing but instead of turning her in they have a sizzling one night stand in an alley. When she arrives on Aplana Island to start her search she realizes her new boss, Mayor Wolfe, is that stranger. Can she keep her focus on finding her brother or will her new boss be too much of a distraction?Note: the first half of this book overlaps with the second half of book three. The art gala scene is present in both books and is where the timeline picks up from where we ended in book three.Honestly shocked that I enjoyed this book as much as I did. I am not a big fan of standalone series because I get too invested in the couple from the previous book to enjoy the new couple but Sav writes them so well that I read two, three and four back to back and still throughly enjoyed EVERY couple. I think it’s helps that she doesn’t put the previous couples in the next books that much, they’re present but they don’t pull focus and make you more curious about what the old couple is up to rather than the current couple. I know some people love to stay in the same universe with different characters but I STRUGGLE to move on especially when the last couple is very much a part of the plot which tends to negatively impact my opinion of the next book.I hated Alistar in Oaths and Omissions, I thought he was a heartless douchebag and the fact that he’s coming out near the top of my list of the men from this series says a lot. I love dirty talking, possessive, goes after what they want men and he did not disappoint. I hate to rank the men of this series because they are all fantastic and I love them each dearly for different reasons but Alistar and Aiden win by far in the spicy, dirty talk, makes my knees weak category. No shade to the other two, I think my favorite is actually Jonas, but those two make me feel some type of way with their words.Cora was super cool and I actually like how twisted and connected this series has become. Cora is Violet’s cousin who is Kal’s half sister from book one. Alistar is Jonas’ brother from book three and then Jonas’ fiancee, Lenny, and Kal’s wife, Elena, will have their siblings as the focus of book five (I know because I cheated and looked). There are time jumps from book one to book four and the family tree, so to speak, is a bit twisted so I had to write it all down.I’m also really big on knowing ages because I don’t mind an age gap but I prefer when the girl is at least of age to be mature enough for a significant age gap. My preference is when they’re out of college, so typically 23+, because I don’t think most grown men (35+) share actual commonalities with college aged women, no matter how “mature” they are. This is the biggest age gap with Cora being 23 and Alistair 36 so it was a bit of a push for me but it was a lot better than in book one where Kal started seeing Elena before she could legally drink. It’s weird because I find it a lot more triggering when there’s an age gap with a 20/21 year old than with a 23/24 year old. Which is why Kal and Elena’s relationship bothered me more than Alistar and Cora’s despite having a smaller age gap.OVERALL: I loved this one, it didn’t rely on the other books to hold it up or provide drama to drive the plot. It had its own individuality and the main couple vibed really well together.'.

Hello Mr. Mayor!

This is Alistair’s book in the Monsters and Muses series. He was a little mysterious when he was introduced in Oaths and Omissions so when I found out he was going to get his own book I was so excited. The man did not disappoint!!Alistair is a dangerous and powerful politician who becomes absolutely obsessed from first sight with the little blue haired nymph that is Cora. Their first encounter was so hot and intense. We are talking about chapter two here my friends. When they happen to meet again things start to get even more interesting. Somehow Cora finds herself working for Alistair, aka the Mayor, as his assistant and he can’t seem to keep his hands off her. When Cora finds out just how dangerous Alistair really is she worries he might be behind her brother’s disappearance, which is the real reason why she is on the island where Alistair lives and works. Alistair grows more enamored by Cora while she tries to push him away, but the sexual tension between the two proves too strong to resist.Alistair is a classic anti-hero bad boy book boyfriend! The kind that won’t hesitate to unalive someone for touching what he claims is his, aka Cora. The kind that builds you a pool because you simply said you like to swim. The kind that takes care of you and nurses you back to health after a car accident then moves all your belongings into his mansion while you are recovering from said accident. You get the point. Let me not forget to mention how absolutely good the spice was!! And I just loved when Jonas, Lenny, Elena, and Kal made their appearances in this book!EVERY book in this series is so great and each one seems to get better and better. Not to mention all the beautiful covers.'.

I really enjoyed Arrows And Apologies! I briefly tried reading the first book in the series and couldn't get in to it but I loved all the teasers Sav was sharing of this book in the run up to release, so decided to try again with this one.I'm so happy I did! I've fallen in love with Cora and Alistair and I liked what I saw of the characters that are from the previous books.I will be reading the other books now.'.
