Just Saying
Informative and Well Thought Out

Bought this for my 3 year old when he started asking about body parts, and this book is all I was hoping it would be. It goes fairly in depth with the various parts of the body and adds plenty of additional facts and trivia on the sides of the main text. I also appreciate that it has an index for quick look-ups and that it keeps most of the gross out facts off to the side of the main text. I also like that it describes some common issues that can happen with each body part.

The book itself is great quality with thicker pages, big pictures, and a good hard cover. Tricky medical terms have their pronunciations next to them, which has been a huge help. My son is now 4 and still loves looking things up in this book. It's a little above his reading level still, but I read it with him and he enjoys that.

Be aware: There's a section on puberty and reproduction in this book. If you want to hold off and talk about that with your child at a later time, hold off on this. It stays pretty medical with those topics though and, in my opinion, the topics are tastefully covered.

Great for kids and adults!

This book is very useful in helping explain to children how the body works: great information, clearly communicated, engaging illustrations, and humor added in throughout as a bonus. Dr. Bennett is one of the best and most experienced pediatricians in the Washington, DC area, and it's nice to have some of his knowledge on hand through this book..
